Harmonic Convergence
The Harmonic Convergence is the name given to a worldwide esoteric event which took place on August 16-17, 1987. The event was centered on a number of sacred places throughout the world from Stonehenge to the Golden Gate Bridge where individuals, many referring to themselves as light beings, gathered to usher in a new era. Hey Jesus said we are children of light. Can I get a witness?
The date of the Harmonic Converence was based partially on the Mayan Calendar with some consideration also given to European and Asian astrological traditions. The chosen dates have the distinction of marking an alignment of the planets of the solar system. The Convergence came 25 years before the infamous 2012 date of course. More on that later. :-)
And what's significant about that?
The year of the Harmonic Convergence doesn't matter that much but the principle of a global awakening to love and unity through divine transformation rings a affirmative chord. Jose Arguelles gained notoriety for his role in the Harmonic Convergence event, and his mystical book about the Maya calendar. Holding a Ph.D. in art history and aesthetics from the University of Chicago, José's career as an educator has included professorships at Princeton University, University of California Davis, the Evergreen State College, Olympia Washington, the Naropa Institute, San Francisco State University, the University of Colorado and the Union Graduate School.

The Harmonic Convergence was defined by Jose Arguelles as the fulfillment of the prophecy of Quetzalcoatl, known as the Thirteen Heavens and Nine Hells. The prophecy stated that following the ninth hell, humanity would know and experience an unprecedented New Age of Peace. The Hell cycle ended on August 16, 1987; the Harmonic Convergence began on August 17. Thus began the projected twenty-five year culmination of the 5,125 year Great Cycle of History, as well as the 26,000-year cycle of evolution, both slated to end in 2012.

According to Native American oral traditions there are four cycles of appoximately 26,000 years. These 26,000 year cycles were divided into 5 SUNS by the Mayans. We are now completing the 4th SUN. Each SUN consisted of 5,2000 years of 360 days each or 5,125 years of 365.25 days. So many numbers, so many theories, and less than four years to go to see if any of it is real.
